Fashion week for Kids in India

There is a bit of buzz going around in India's fashion industry regarding India Kids Fashion Week (IKFW). First of its kind in India, IKFW has got industry experts talking. So-far Kids fashion in India has been irrelevant (or i would say Kiddish), IKFW seems to be the first step in making it a serious business.

India has become one of the most fashion conscious country with a large youth population already settling on branded clothing. With high disposable income in their hands, parents want their kids also to represent their upwardly status. They are no more hesitant to buy branded cloths for their children, and this change in attitude has prompted fashion houses to come up with Kids lines.

Internationally Kids Fashion is a multi-billion dollar industry, not so much in India, but things seems to be changing with lot of International designers and brands hitting the racks in India. International brands such as Monnalisa, the Versace of kids, Chicco, Benetton Kids, Zara, Mothercare, Nautica Kids, Burberry Kids and Hamleys are all busy expanding their presence and widening their product portfolio in India

With 30 per cent of the India’s population below the age of 15 years, kids wear fashion industry is booming at a fast pace all over the country. Report says the market in India can exceed 50,000 crore withing few years.

Focusing back on IKFW, it seems to be a right step for the industry. Designer like Rocky S, Nishka Lulla, Narendra Kumar and Kidswear brands like Barbie, Little Kangaroos, Just for Kids, and Kidology with designer collections by Raghuvendra Rathore, Malini Ramani, Gauri and Nainika, Gaurav Gupta have already confirmed their participation.

IKFW is scheduled on January 17th to 19th 2012. It is organized by Craftworld Events and in association with Retailers Association of India. They have tied up with POGO and Zoom for telecast and with Launchpad Media Services as Talent Partner. Other tie ups are Operation Smile NGO and Child Magazine.

I also got to speak to few kids and parents participating in the show, they are exited about the participation and are looking forward to the experience. IKFW has planned to have proper arrangements at the venue to take care of the kids and the parents. I am sure this will be a memorable experience for the kids.

Dhoni is the highest paid Model in India

No one can match the celebrity status that a circket-team captain enjoys in India, not even kings and badshas and sultans of bollywood.

When a brand is looking for a face, and has liberty to spend millions, they will reach for the captain. Its official, Dhoni is the biggest and the costliest talent in India.

Dhoni has signed an endorsement deal with a sports management company for whooping Rs. 210 Crores for 3 years, which is Rs. 70 Cr per year. The management company is Rhiti Sports which was founded six years ago and was unknown before signing Dhoni. Rhiti Sports also manages the endorsements of two other India cricketers, R.P. Singh and Harbhajan Singh.

Dhoni reportedly charges up to Rs 6 crore (Rs 60 million) an endorsement a year and is associated with 24 leading brands like PepsiCo, Reebok and Godrej. Dhoni was last year ranked the world's highest-earning cricketer by Forbes Magazine, with earnings of about $11m, in a list dominated by Indian players.

Elle 18 - India found the right models for their new Ad campaign


Elle 18 is a top international color cosmetic brand launched by Lakme in 1998 to target young population.

India remains one of the rapidly developing cosmetic markets around the world, growing rate at 13% per year and already worth above $6.3 billion. Lakme is currently possessing around 30% market share in India. Revlon and Maybelline (form L’Oreal) are other brands competing with Elle-18 at the upper-mass (premium) end cosmetics spectrum.

Elle 18 is all geared up to launch its new advertising campaign. The advertising account of Elle 18 is with Publicis Inidia Pvt Ltd. After a month long round of screen tests, auditions and model meetings, they have selected following models as the face of the brand.

Lakme Fashion Week - 2010 Female Auditions

Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2010 FEMALE MODEL AUDITIONS will be held on 21st July, 2010. This is a general audition and you might have to wait with 100s of other models. We strongly recommended that you try only if you fulfill the below requirements. You can also try through some good talent agencies. We will post names of some good talent agencies based in India.

Registrations open 11am - 12 noon for female models

Lowers: Tight fit hot shorts or skirt (Please do not wear jeans)
